This House is not a home (Matsudi, PM for invite)

[Kanazuchi]

Souken had heard that his family home had been attacked to be used as a forward operating base for an organized crime group in Rukongai, he'd spoken to Matsudi about this he'd been told that they ran a clean operation or at least on the surface as Seireitei had yet had any reason to assault the estate so it had been left alone while more pressing matters we're dealt with in higher numbered districts of Rukongai.

He'd pleaded to Matsudi for it to be dealt with and they'd agreed to let Matsudi go accompanied by Souken to further inspect and report back with information of what was happening there and if criminal activity was happening.

Souken had asked to meet to Matsudi two streets away from the compound to discuss how they'd go about going in, and how they deal with the situation. Souken could feel himself swelling up with rage at the idea of going back to his families household, to his knowledge he was the last one of his family, and for his house to be used for such means annoyed him to say the least.

[Matsudi]

Matsudi arrived with a feeling of concern for his friend, while he understood how Souken must feel about this, he couldn't help but worry that he would do something stupid. But then, that was why Matsudi was here, to try and stop him doing so. These criminals would be apprehended, or taken down if they turned violent. He presumed that Souken was hoping for them to get violent to give him and excuse, and Matsudi was just here to make this whole thing legal.

"Souken," He came up behind Souken, two streets away from the household as they'd agreed, his left hand rested on the hilt of his zanpakutou. Not a threat, it was just a habit, somewhere to rest a restless hand.

"You doing alright?" His voice was tinged with concern, whatever came from this he only hoped it would bring Souken some closure, he'd of course been told all about Souken's deceased family. He had to be for this assignment to have been viable, it was just fortunate he'd been able to persuade his superiors that investigating this group otherwise Souken would have been left wanting. "I'm ready when you are. I'm the officer here, but I'm going to let you take the lead."

"I'm ready" Souken gave a the response of a man in thought, he didn't want to run in and just murder everyone, he'd be hurting himself, hurting Matsudi and shaming his family. Closure for his family was on the agenda and while Souken could only lie that vengeance wasn't part of today he'd do it by the book.

"We'll just check things out, see if they'll answer a few questions if things get out of hand, we'll have cause to use force, but only if they make the first move" Souken said.

Souken stood up from where he had been sitting. "We'll approach slowly at walking speed for the front gate so no signs of aggression, I'm sure they'll want to at least have the illusion of a legitimate operation if they show resistance they know they'll seem suspicious"

Souken walked off expecting Matsudi to follow, Souken so far had kept his cool.

[Matsudi]

Matsudi was somewhat unnerved by how calm Souken was behaving, he was expecting him to want to go in and crack some skulls, but he wasn't going to argue with the tactic. If this was going to be by the book then those back in Sereitei couldn't throw the book at them so to speak, though of course Matsudi knew if it did get out of hand he may have to apprehend Souken too, just to try and take some heat off of the situation.

"Alright, then we'll do it as you say." In Matsudi's opinion it was a sound plan, most eleventh division members would want to rush in swords out, and tear the place down. He had to admit, the way Souken was playing this, he would have a very successful career in the Sixth. But he would leave that for later, this wasn't the place to go discussing it.

Falling in line with Souken he walked casually at his side, though kept an air of caution about him just in case. It was fortunate Matsudi was a quick draw. They would walk the two streets leading to the small estate until it could be seen in the distant, Matsudi lifted his left hand to rest a thumb in his belt, a deceptively non-threatening action. In truth of course, it was so that if they did strike out at the sight of two Shinigami, he could quickly grasp for his Zanpakutou's scabbard to secure it for a swift draw.

Souken approached the gate and stopped, two plain clothed men stood at the gate, armed with simple Katanas, "We're here to perform an inspection" said Souken to the two guards on the gate. The two guards looked at each others before the shorter of the two responded with "Don't think so pal this is private property, this is a noble estate you have no jurisdictional here so get lost" Souken grinded his jaw, but kept his cool.

Souken knew that the deed to the building was technically his, and they were basically squatting and he was fairly sure he could enter and not be punished for trespassing. "You know, we only wanna take a look and your resistance only make you look like your hiding something" Souken added to try convince the guard but it was no use.

Souken scanned the walls, nothing he couldn't jump over.. good to know

[Matsudi]

Matsudi could have seen the denial of entry come from a mile away, that was why he had made sure when getting permission for this small assignment to get a warrant, something the sixth division were allowed to attain if they saw due cause - just like any 'police' force. Placing his hand on Souken's shoulder to attempt to calm his friend, he stepped in front of the taller man and held up the warrant to the guard. "I've a warrant. I'm tenth seat Matsudi of the sixth division, I believe you'll find I do have jurisdiction."

He was playing this official, the guards stared at the warrant and seemed to grind their teeth as much as Souken was, it was fairly obvious that they were reluctant to let them in despite the need to put up an official front. "If you do not allow us entry, then I will presume you have something to hide and we will use necessary force." Necessary force, that was an amusing one, Souken wouldn't pull his punches, necessary force was likely non-existent in this scenario.

"So. Will you grant us entry?" Matsudi kept the official tone, with an air of authority he rarely showed before Souken, the pair didn't often work together and so his friend had likely not seen Matsudi acting like the officer he was.

The two guard stepped aside so they could enter. Souken walked inside first, and felt nothing, this house was no longer his home, or indeed any home, was more like a barracks the fountain and decorations torn down, despite being blind, Souken knew his family home had changed dramatically.

A tall man walked out of the main hall to meet them. "Shinigami always sticking there nose into our business" he said, with a look of disgust on his face. He clicked his fingers and the door was closed behind them. Guards walked out of each door, must of been 15 or so, some of them seemed like competent swordsmen.

"You can moan about Shinigami in your own time, were here to inspect the grounds, don't get in our way" Said Souken.
